The thumbnail strip
The folder along the bottom or down the side, as pictures, pictures with names, or names alone. Filled from the camera's own small copies, four to fifty times faster.
- T opens it, closed by default; click a thumbnail to show it, or drag it out to drop its file elsewhere.
- Fast. A camera’s or phone’s JPEG carries a small copy of itself; the strip shows that when it is large enough and the photo’s shape, instead of decoding the photo.
- What you see first. Up to four are made at once, the ones on screen first, and one scrolled past before it was made is never made.
- Three layouts: at the side instead of along the bottom, names under the pictures, or names instead of pictures for a folder of thousands.
